Fans of AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ will recognize Special Effects Makeup Artist Gino Crognale as he played a ‘Walker’ in the Season 4 Mid-Season premiere episode “After”. Fans will know him as the Walker that took Carl’s shoe! Otherwise Gino, who lives in Pittsburgh, PA with his wife and children, can be found behind the scenes of many different films and television shows. It is ‘The Walking Dead’ that brought him a 2012 Emmy Award for Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup for the Season 2 premiere episode “What Lies Ahead”. Luckily for me The Prez Jim Manion is friends with Gino so my daughter Cassie and I got a chance to meet him at the NPC Photo Gym. Gino not only brought his Emmy Award but was gracious enough to present us with an autographed Walker head statue that he sculpted and also autographed some photos of him in makeup from the “After” episode.
