TEAM NPC: ATHLETE SPOTLIGHT NPC Figure Competitor Kylie Jo Hayes

Athlete Spotlight NPC Figure Competitor Kylie Jo Hayes

Hey, I’m Kylie!  An NPC Competitor, model, fitness and nutrition enthusiast.  You’ll be seeing posts from me regarding training, nutrition, contest prep, and everything else related to living a fit life! So, I thought I should introduce myself.

I’m a 22 (almost 23) years old, small town girl raised in Sterling, CO and just recently made the move to Wyoming.  I work full time for the State of Wyoming; but, to be honest, my passion is fitness!  I am an unabashedly, self-proclaimed gym-rat!

So far, I have three competitions under my belt, two bikinis and one figure.

My first show was the Armbrust Pro Gym Warrior Classic in 2011.  I didn’t place in the top five in novice or open, but from the very second I stepped on stage, I knew it was only the beginning for me. I’ve never felt a rush quite like it.

A few months later, I walked the stage again at the 2011 MET-Rx Rocky Mountain Championships, but this time with a lot more confidence.  At this competition I placed third in both my novice and open classes!  While I was thrilled with how well I had done, I no longer felt that Bikini was the right division for me.

Fast forward to the Warrior Classic 2012… I was on stage once again, this time in the Figure division!  After a very difficult prep, the outcome was better than I had expected.  I placed second in Novice Class C and fourth in Open Class D.  Placing so well in my very first showing in Figure was a huge relief.  It helped confirm that I had made the right choice to switch divisions.

Next up, Women’s Physique!  I got unbelievably excited the first time I saw this division live.  In my opinion, it is the perfect balance between muscularity and femininity.  I seriously cannot wait to get up on stage and do a posing routine! (Plus I won’t have to wear those five-inch heels anymore!)

My Goals – Make a difference. Inspire others to chase down the healthy lifestyle they deserve.  Compete with the best of the best.  And, of course, a pro-card never hurts right?!

My Training Philosophy – Hard work will pay off.  If you put in the work you will see results.  Always push yourself.  You are capable of so much more than you give yourself credit for.

My Nutrition Philosophy – It’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle.  Eat for the body you want, not the body you have.  I also believe in moderation.  Obviously we all give in to pizza and ice cream sometimes but that’s not something to feel bad about, it’s just living.  Just make sure it doesn’t happen too often!

My Advice – Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams.  Figure out what you want and don’t stop until you get there!  Don’t let others bring you down.  Use negativity to fuel your fire!

That’s it for now.  Keep checking back for new articles, videos, recipes and more!  Feel free to send me any questions or let me know what you’d like to see next!  You can email me at KylieJoAthlete@gmail.com or find me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/KylieJoAthlete.
