GARAGE GYM “Growing up I was always very athletic. I played soccer for 10 years and jazz danced for 20 years. I loved to ski and horseback ride as a kid too.
I started weight training in 8th grade – my dad always weight trained and he had  his weights out in the garage, so that is where I started working out.”

GOING FOR IT “I loved the feeling of getting stronger and seeing muscle definition developing. When I was 16 I started going to my local gym and never looked back.
In 2009 I was working out at Golds gym, and quite a few people asked me if I was getting ready for a competition. I told them that I wasn’t and their response was that I should.  I decided to go for it.”

ADRENALINE RUSH “My favorite thing about competing is the physical challenge and being able to showcase all of my hard work on stage. I always get an incredible adrenaline rush before I go on stage!”

ROLE MODELS “My original role models for weight training were my Mom and Dad. They have always been very consistent about keeping themselves in shape and staying strong. My current role model is my coach and trainer, IFBB Women’s Physique pro Sarah Hurrle. She is such an inspiration to me, and has a heart of gold.”

SUPPORT SYSTEM “I am married and have two daughters, so sometimes it can be a tricky balancing act to keep life in line while getting ready for a competition. Thank goodness I have a very supportive family. My husband and daughters love to see me on stage., which makes them very understanding of my time spent in the gym. I am also a medical aesthetician, which I love! I have amazing clients that support me through the training process also!!”
