IFBB Weekend Preview: Arnold Classic Brasil

The Arnold Classic and the IFBB Professional League head to South America for the first time this weekend, as the two-day event moves to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

A sellout crowd is expected to be on hand for the inaugural weekend, which is expected to attract more than 35,000 attendees. The expo will feature the latest in equipment, sports nutrition, apparel and accessories. An accompanying “Fight Pavilion” will feature the latest in mixed martial arts and other combat sports.

Two dozen of the IFBB’s finest will take center stage on Saturday for the Men’s Bodybuilding and Fitness divisions.

The enigmatic Cedric McMillan, coming off a win at FIBO Power two weeks ago, highlights the Men’s Bodybuilding. This will be McMillan’s third contest since March, meaning he’ll have to hold his condition longer than he has before in order to hold of Johnnie Jackson and Hidetada Yamagishi.

Jackson placed second to McMillan at FIBO while Yamagishi should be completely recovered from a broken wrist that nearly forced him out of the Arnold Classic in March.

In Fitness, Tanji Johnson makes the trip to Brazil looking to add another Arnold title to her collection. Johnson won this year’s Fitness International for the first time in her career. She’ll face off against three other top-six finishers from that contest in Trish Warren (4th), Regaine Da Silva (5th) and Ryall Vasani (6th).
