GIVE IT A TRY I had always been a very active kid, playing football, basketball, as well as extreme sports such as dirt biking, and snowboarding. I first started working out at a young age around 16, but really started to find a love for it at the age of 17. I had always been into bodybuilding and when they had introduced the Men’s Physique division I had bodybuilder friends who recommended that I try this category out.
A GOOD FIT What draws me to the division is the different opportunity it brings to the sport. I believe it is a great variation that allows more competitors to the NPC stages. It’s a good fit for me because it has allowed me to pursue other passions of mine, like Olympic weightlifting as well as other physical activities such as Muay Thai, rather than being so strict and having to stick to a bodybuilding-type of routine to maintain that specific look.
PUSH IT I have always been a competitive person. I like pushing myself to my limits and then some to see what I can do with my body. It is only natural to want to compete against the best when you are at your best! I was always the one in the gym trying to one-up my workout partners on strength lifts such as the deadlift and squats.
ROLE WITH IT I have a couple role models who most people wouldn’t know, a few very close friends who have always been there to push me and motivate me in ways only they really know how. For these people I am truly blessed and grateful.
USA BOUND The goal for the rest of the 2013 competitive season would be to compete at the USAS and come back for that number one spot!
