2012 IFBB OC Muscle Classic Results & Gallery

During his short time as an IFBB Men’s Physique competitor, Matt Christianer has experienced both the high and low ends of the spectrum. On Saturday night, Christianer’s career pendulum swung back to high as he won the IFBB Orange County Muscle Classic in Culver City.

Christianer’s became the first competitor to win an IFBB Men’s Physique contest when he won the Pro League’s inaugural event at the Governor’s Cup in March. A few weeks later, however, Christianer dropped to eighth in the division’s second contest, the Pro Grand Prix in Culver City. But Christianer listened to feedback from the judges telling him he needed to tone down the conditioning and strip some muscle off his arms and shoulders entering the Orange County, and the result was the second professional win of his career.

Christianer, who became the first-ever Men’s Physique pro when he won the Overall at the 2011 Junior USAs, the first NPC pro qualifier for the newly-formed division, now joins Mark Anthony as the division’s only multiple winners.

Sadik Hadzovik, competing for the second time as pro after winning the overall at the NPC Junior Nationals in June, finished as the runner-up. Tyler Anderson, who turned pro two weeks ago at the NPC USAs, placed third in his pro debut.
