The second-ever Amateur Olympia comes to Kuwaiit this weekend, as roughly 200 of the best amateur bodybuilders from Asia, the Middle East and Africa will compete for the coveted IFBB Pro Card given to the overall winner.
The event, which will be held on November 29-30, is expected to a draw stellar lineup once again. Last year in Britain, 212 division standout Sami Al Haddad won his class and the overall at the first Amateur Olympia. Haddad went on to place second in three IFBB Pro League contests this season, finishing just behind a 212 Showdown winner each time. He placed second to Kevin English at the New York Pro in May before finishing as the runner-up to Flex Lewis at the British Grand Prix and EVL’s Prague Pro.
“We are all very excited to bring bodybuilding to the Mecca of the Middle East and to see all the great athletes from Asia, the Middle East and Africa competing for the honor of earning an IFBB pro card,” said contest promoter Bader Boodai, President of the Kuwait Bodybuilding Federation and owner of Oxygen Gym in Kuwait.
