2. About Me:

I started competing when I was in college working at Lululemon, the company had us come up with BHAGS (big hairy audacious goals) and mine was to compete in a NPC Bikini contest.

I’m actually a very self conscious person and not one to throw on a bikini and just head to the beach. I hated the feeling of being held back by my internal self talk so I decided to do something that scared me and was TOTALLY out of my comfort zone.  Not really knowing what I was getting myself into or even watching a live show I trained and entered my first competition……. it was the scariest/most exciting experience of my life! Being self conscious all my life to go to the beach in fear of being judged and than actually putting on a bikini to be judged was a lot for me and  I was surprisingly  immediately hooked.

So what was supposed to be one competition has now turned into a passion and a lifestyle that I love. Competing has taught me to believe in myself and my potential. It has taught me that great things can happen but first you have to show up.

As a competitor I want to teach and show people that competing is so much more than what meets the eye. Yes there’s a lot of makeup, hair spray and tanner but it’s the journey to that point that’s truly meaningful and builds character.

Personally I want to just get more involved in the fitness community and get more involved in fitness modeling.

3. Role Models or people who inspired you:

My mother has always been my #1 role model growing up with a single parent I have watched and learned what is truly means to be strong, honest, humble, true to yourself and never forget where you come from. I will never lose my way because of this women she is my ROCK.

In the industry Nathalia Melo and Yeshaira Robles’s both inspire me by their beautiful physiques and down to earth personalities.

Tanja Johnson inspires me with her always humble attitude and giving attitude, what can I say when she walks into a room she just radiates inspiration.

4.  Pre-contest training and nutrition philosophy:

Nutrition is very important and I have a great team of people that have helped me along the way.

Balance is KEY!

I eat 5-6 small meals a day, lots of lean proteins (ground turkey, fish, chicken),  low glycemic carbs (yams, sweet potatoes, oat meal),  and healthily fats (natural peanut/almond butter, avocados). With at least 1 gallon of water a day.

Training really depends on how far out I am from a competition generally I lift weights 5 X a week along with doing cardio 6X a week with one off day.

Again training and Nutrition for me really is about surrounding yourself with the right team of people, balance, making the time, not giving up and TRUSTING THE PROCESS.

5.  Motivation:

What keeps me motivated is my passion for this sport and determination. Lots of thing keep me motivated but what pushes me is looking back on how far I’ve come and grown personally.

What’s next…..well like I said I want to get more involved in this sport in more ways than just competing and  I want to start fitness modeling.

Competing wise I want to compete in 2014 Arnold, NY PRO and Olympia!! Dreaming BIG!

6. Misc:
